Film TitleGhare Baire (The Home and the World), 1985, India, Bengali
Scene DescriptionA servant arrives to inform Bimala that Sandip is waiting for her in the salon. She goes to him, eyed by her sister-in-law. Sandip insists that Bimala sit on the sofa beside him. After an obligatory silence, he starts impressing Bimala by mentioning all her talents as Nikhil has reported them. Coming to the point: he wants the zamindari house to be the centre of his movement, and he wants to work with her, flattering her with the nickname Queen Bee. He cannot have his way with his uncompromising friend and clearly uses Bimala to get his way with Nikhil. (13/39)
