Rajrani Meera (1933) Directed by Debaki Bose for New Theatres Ltd., Calcutta, it was a bilingual film—made in Bengali as Meerabai, directed by Hiren Bose and Basanta Chatterjee. Cinematography was by Nitin Bose, with music composed by R. C. Boral. The film starred Durga Khote, Prithviraj Kapoor, K. L. Saigal, Pahari Sanyal, Molina Devi, and Indubala. Though K. L. Saigal played a minor role as a devotee, Prithviraj Kapoor's portrayal of the King of Mewar, Mirabai's husband, earned him major acclaim and is considered one of his finest performances.
