Introduction

Bombay by Nite (1969) Directed and written by A. Shamsheer, the film featured a cast that included Sanjeev Kumar, Ramesh Deo, Prithviraj Kapoor, Kumkum, Asit Sen, Bela Bose, Mohan Choti, Lata Sinha, Heera Sawant, and Johnny Whisky. The film centered on a journalist (played by Ramesh Deo) who becomes entangled with gangsters and crosses paths with a scientist who gives him a magical ring that grants him the power of invisibility.

Blending crime, fantasy, and comedy, the film includes several humorous sequences, most notably a scene where a motorcycle moves on its own while the pillion rider, played by Rajendranath, remains hilariously suspended in place.

The music, composed by Iqbal Qureshi with lyrics by Upendra, did not meet expectations but still offered a few memorable tunes. Notable songs include Dheere Dheere sung by Kishore Kumar & Sulakshana Pandit, Husn-E-Baharan Tauba by Sharda & Chorus, Baharon Ne Kiye Sajde by Mukesh, Khubsurat Badan by Mahendra Kapoor, Krishna Kalle, Sharda & Chorus, Yeh Shaam Behakti Shaam by Krishna Kalle and Kaun Si Manzil Pe by Suman Kalyanpur.

Despite its intriguing premise and star-studded cast, it was not a commercial success and is generally considered an average film. The available print quality is subpar, and while the movie can be found online, it remains a lesser-known and largely overlooked entry in Hindi cinema.
