Scene Description Captain Spark or Ruku's second fiddle Raxit turns out to be his grandfather. The precocious child is Ambika Ghoshal's informant who warned him about the thug who had come to steal his Ganesha. Referencing Jatayu's story "The Crocodile's Grin", the two had concocted the plan of safely concealed the statuette inside the Durga idol's vahana- the lion's mouth with Ruku's chewing gum. And all along, it wasn't the original artefact but a fake. Feluda was hence assigned not to catch the thief but to specifically unveil the person who intended the theft. (17/29)
