Scene Description Bharatnatyam finds its roots in Tamil Nadu. The three syllables of the saint Bharata's name, from which the dance form derives its name as well are the first syllables of the three main principles of the dance form, Bhava (feelings), Raga (music) and Tala (rhythm). Bala Saraswathi performs the mudras (symbols) essential to the dance form with her hands, explaining the mudras and their interpretations.(2/20)
