Body of Work

A bus rolls down a narrow, winding, hilly road. On board are Meenakshi Iyer and her little son, Raja Chowdhury, a wildlife photographer who was introduced to her by a common friend acts as a chaperone. The passengers assume they are a couple - Mr and Mrs Iyer. The calm on the bus is short-lived. The bus is stopped by an angry mob out to avenge a killing. A storm of communal violence and hatred has swept over the area. Now begins another kind of journey for the passengers. They discover things about themselves and others they had not known before. Meenakshi saves Raja from the miscreants by introducing him as her husband. As they leave the bus the next morning in search of another way home, they find that the violence they have seen has brought them closer, but this closeness is poignant as they know that parting is inevitable...
