Body of Work

This is the story of a mother, Shalini, who seeks happiness in money, fame and success, and her son Abhijit. Shalini is the principal of a reputed college which consistently boasts good grades; her son is an average student. In a society where success is measured by the marks you obtain in exams, Abhijit is a failure. He attempts suicide. His caring uncle takes him to Kolhapur to recover emotionally.

At a school function which he attends against his wish in Kolhapur, he is stunned to see the spirit in the children. They are mentally challenged but move around with vigour. Abhiit is inspired, his inner spirit is awakened and he begins to work with them. In the company of Archana, a teacher in the school, he learns that he is over-emphasising his suffering. He understands how parents cope with their children. And the children show him that in spite of what they are, they still enjoy their share. Meanwhile, his mother believes his involvement is meaningless...
