The Verdict, the story of a mother and a son, develops into a choice between love and the law. A young man is accused of murder and sent to jail on a trumped-up charge. All clues lead to him, all doors close on him. His mother's life turns topsy turvy as she watches him being convicted for a crime he did not commit. He is sent to jail to protect the real culprit. She tries her best to get him off the trumped up charge but her efforts are in vain. In desperation, she decides to study law and defend her son herself. But she learns the hard way that life is not quite so straightforward. And she faces another battle - this time between the law, a mother's love for her son and a son's changing nature.
