Deool (The Temple) is a political satire that focuses on Indian politics and devotion. The film charts the transformation of Mangrul, a village in the remotest interiors of Maharashtra while exploring the dangers of the commoditization of devotion, and of soft corruption in general. Deool reminds us about how easy it can be for good people to get caught up in bad things, ignoring the greater good and long term security for a quick buck. The film was honoured with a National Award for the best feature film and Best Actor for Girish Kulkarni.
