Sting2005
Introduction
Introduction for Sting (2005) is being prepared.
Body of Work
Sting is the first-ever Hindi film to be set entirely in the northeastern state of Mizoram. It begins on the day when the then Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi signed an accord with the Mizo National Front (MNF) chief, Laldenga, ending a violent 20-year guerrilla war between the disgruntled Mizos and the central government. The film's protagonist is a spokesperson of the MNF whose wife, a former Mizo militant, was raped by soldiers during the insurgency. The drama unfolds when a civilian doctor from Mumbai comes visiting.
