Film TitlePratidwandi (The Adversary, Siddhartha and the City), 1970, India, Bengali
Scene DescriptionSiddhartha visits his friends at the medical college hostel. Actor Kalyan Chatterjee in the role of Adinath is particularly interesting. He is the antithesis of Siddhartha. Outgoing and street smart with apparently loose morals, he steals money collected for the Red Cross, frequents brothels, comes from a well off family and yet maintains remarkable grades. (4/27)
