Film TitlePratidwandi (The Adversary, Siddhartha and the City), 1970, India, Bengali
Scene DescriptionSiddhartha shows a determined detachment from other applicants. He empathises with their situation, but they are too mundanne, their conversations are prosaic and trite. Siddhartha instead transports himself to his medical school's classes, perhaps to feel different and far above these inanities. (19/27)
