Scene Description Biresh made a casual request to go for a ride in Arindam's car without disclosing where they were headed. Arindam saw his worst fears materialise when Biresh took him to a waiting crowd of protestors and requested him to say a few words in their support. Arindam flatly refused to accede to his request. He proposed to donate money to the strikers' cause but denied being seen amongst them. He couldn't place the reason for this one of a kind 'treason'. Perhaps it was the fear of alienating his audience or jeopardising his career by aligning himself with a certain class of politics that stopped him. But he knew he had disappointed Biresh and lost his respect, and that memory has been grating on his nerves ever since. (15/22)
