Scene Description One Mukunda Lahiri, a washed up actor of past repute had visited Arindam at his flat in Ballygunge one night. Arindam divulges that Mukunda was a lead in his first film Debi Chowdhurani, and the senior actor had berated the newcomer on set in front of the whole crew. Arindam had reconciled with his harsh criticism as he was convinced, Mukunda Lahiri was from an outdated school of dramatic acting. He didn't understand realistic acting that was becoming the modern style of cinema. Besides the dispute in technique, the older man had also repudiated him because he knew Arindam would outdo him in their scenes together. Years later, Lahiri was sitting in his living room begging the now famous Arindam for a minor role at the tail end of his career. (13/22)
