Scene Description Arindam encounters a disturbing dream. Piles of money surround him but as they unfurl in the wind, heaps of skeletal hands come out reaching for him, holding ringing telehone receivers. He loses his footing and gets sucked in a quicksand of money. He calls for help at his old mentor Shankar-da, a ghostly figure whose makeup is peeling off. Shankar-da had advised him against choosing a career in film-acting, claiming that film-actors are puppets with no tangible contribution to art. He refuses to pull Arindam out. The money piled up on bones of unheard voices is perhaps a metaphor for reality or the accusatory metaphor imposed on the film profession by Shankar-da, who doesn't provide Arindam salvation because he is irredemable or so Arindam thinks.
