Scene Description Arati being chauffeured by her boss, Mr Mukherjee, perturbs Subrata yet again. He tells her to resign. He has long lost his playfulness and with each day the man gets further and further away from what he used to be. Arati is discomfited by her husband's change. Yet it is almost second-nature of the middle-class housewife to abide by filial piety and accept the husband's decision even if she doesn't agree with it. Subrata types her resignation letter. Compounded by her son's sickness, Arati decides to file the resignation.(15/17)
