Scene Description Analysing the possible motives of Golap Colony residents, Byomkesh and Ajit discuss the case of ex-professor Nepal Gupta. Though the man openly disapproved of the murdered Mr Sen and clearly detests his nephew Bijoy for spurning his daughter Mukul, Byomkesh surmises that the man is too shrewd to think that he can take over the colony's business by simply killing off the owner. If he had to kill out of sheer hatred, he would have targeted Bijoy instead. Thus, Byomkesh rules out the case of both Nepal Gupta and his daughter Mukul who still loves Bijoy.(11/14)
