Scene Description Moti is a lower caste wife from Gangacharan's previous village who loses her whole family to hunger and disease. On her last leg, she reaches Gangacharan's doorstep after starving for four days. She lays under the tree with no remaining ability to stand up or talk. The wife spots her and brings her food wrapped in a banana leaf. The girl is too weak even to eat. But the wife does not touch the untouchable girl, let alone try and feed her. She leaves her laid on the dirt. (18/24)
