Introduction

Introduction for Barbed Wire (2005) is being prepared.

Body of Work

Barbed Wire is an introspective journey into the many lives of Sudha, an illegal immigrant who, in her search for an identity and her struggle to survive, moves from one man to another and from one religion to another. The sudden threat of terrorism from across the border changes the socio-political situation in a village close to the frontier. The army moves in and this takes its toll on inter-personal relationships which are now marred by suspicion and fear.
A film of exquisite visuals, Barbed Wire satirises communal politics and makes the point that when it comes to survival, religion becomes irrelevant.
