American Blend (2005)
American Blend is a rap-tap-hip-hop, 90 minute music and dance celebration of a cross-cultural, part-Indian, part-American family living in Los Angeles. It is a story of their trials and tribulations, and their ultimate coming together in a colourful, musical blend of both cultures. Raj Chadha is obsessive about two things: food and Bollywood. The two loves come together in a restaurant he owns called Bollywood Cafe. Jayme, an American, is Raj's second wife. Their children have been raised in the traditional way. Raj has two children from his first, deceased wife. The fused family is now about to blow a fuse. There is a secret threatening the family bond. The film looks at what can go right when culturally diverse families come together in the redefining of a new America.
