Body of Work

Equipped with a camera, Federico embarks on a personal journey of rediscovery in the bewitching World Heritage City of Sana'a in Yemen. He soon finds himself embroiled in a dilemma faced by his Yemeni assistant, Tariq, son of a wealthy aristocrat who is about to marry Bilqis, daughter of a prominent judge, although the two have not seen each other yet. The match is perfect in every way and the families are overjoyed.

But Tariq realises the woman he has fallen in love with is not the wealthy bride-to-be, but rather a low-class orphan gypsy. He must now make the choice between marriage and tradition or love and the unknown. This bitter-sweet romantic film is first feature film to come out of Yemen.
