Scene DescriptionAnanda boasts at the outset, he has brought up his four sons to respect honesty and hard work, and declares therein lies the success of his own career. He has risen from being a subordinate at a mica mining company to a position on the top, and with his own endeavours, improved the living standards of the town by funding schools and hospitals. The septuagenarian is being honoured by the citizens today, with the town having been named Anandanagar ten years ago and a biography of the revered citizen going under publication.
In occasionally exaggerated gestures, almost in a Greek choric elucidation style, Prasanta keeps repeating the two favourite aphorisms of is father, 'Work is worship' and 'Honesty is the best possibility'. (2/37)
