Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar's magnum opus, Sholay, directed by Ramesh Sippy follows the story of retired inspector Thakur Baldev Singh's quest for avenging the massacre of his family by the hands of the infamous dacoit Gabbar Singh. For the said mission he hires two small time thugs and inseparable friends Jai and Veeru, who had previously saved Thakur's life from the dacoits looting the train, in which the former were being taken to the jail by the inspector. Now, out of jail and on a run again, this particular still from the film is from the song "Yeh dosti hum nahi todenge," sung bu Kishore Kumar and Manna Dey and composed by R.D. Burman. A cult--classic the song became the template for multiple friendship songs that came after it and also establishes the bond between the two friends who have no one else in life apart from each other.
